Do I Qualify for SF MRA?

Understanding SF MRA eligibility requirements

Your San Fransisco Medical Reimbursement Account (SF MRA) is a health benefit under the SF City Option program. SF MRA gives you access to funds that can be used to reimburse you for health insurance costs, doctor visits, and many other health-related expenses.

Who Qualifies for SF MRA?

You may qualify for SF MRA if your employer elected to deposit funds into the SF City Option program on your behalf. Once an employer does this, they should give you a Health Care Payment Confirmation Notice to notify you of the deposit they made.

Additional SF MRA, eligibility requirements may include:

  • If you worked in San Francisco anytime from 2008 onwards.
  • If you worked in San Francisco for more than 90 days in total.
  • If you worked in San Francisco for more than 8 hours per week, on average.
  • If you enrolled in employer provider health coverage.
  • If the company had more than 20 employees worldwide.

Find Out if You Are Eligible

The best way to know if you are eligible for the SF MRA benefit is to enroll into the program. Even if an employer has already deposited funds into SF City Option on your behalf, you must still enroll in the SF MRA benefit before you can access the funds.
