San Francisco’s Health Care Security Ordinance (HCSO) requires certain San Francisco Employers to make health care expenditures on behalf of their eligible employees. SF City Option is one option for Employers to satisfy this Employer Spending Requirement.

If your Employer makes a contribution on your behalf, you will receive a City Option Welcome Letter with instructions on how to complete the SF City Option Program Finder Form to determine whether you might be eligible for one of three health care programs: SF MRA, SF Covered MRA, or Healthy San Francisco.

Once you are enrolled in an SF City Option health care program, you may start spending the funds for eligible health care expenses (if enrolled in SF Covered MRA or SF MRA) or start accessing health care services (if enrolled in Healthy San Francisco).
